The Fraunhofer Center for Experimental Software Engineering (CESE) performs applied research and technology transfer to support the software-enabled innovations developed and used by our customers in industry, government, and academia. Together with its strategic partners, CESE develops and uses innovative, effective, and scalable model-based approaches to software and systems engineering to design and develop systems, to make those systems safe and secure, and to powerfully test and verify them. CESE also uses state-of-the-art measurement and analysis methods to support its customers’ software development process challenges.
To support these efforts, CESE relies on its demonstrated competences in the following areas:
Founded almost twenty years ago, CESE has a rich history of supporting the software and systems engineering needs of state and federal government agencies including NASA, the U.S. Department of Defense, and the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), as well as those of industrial organizations in the automotive, medical device and IT systems domains.
Fraunhofer CESE is affiliated with the University of Maryland (UMD) and is a part of Fraunhofer USA - a US 501(c) 3 not-for-profit applied research and technology transfer organization. Fraunhofer USA is a subsidiary of Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft – the largest applied research organization in Europe.
